The real question is what

incentives

are sacrificed to the industries to entice them to Berea?

What does the City, County, and Commonwealth forego to get these jobs?

Our tax dollars pay for incentives to entice the manufacturer to choose Berea.

There should be agreed upon job creation goals to meet in order to receive the promised job creation incentives. The opportunity cost of each job should be known, recognized, and discussed.

Does the City plan to target manufacturers committed to sustainability?

Do we have the electricity and water to support this growth? You already know......

Thanks for commenting, Valen. These are worthwhile questions. In about two years' time, before the engineering report comes back and buildout begins, these would be questions worth putting to Council at regular meetings. Thank you for commenting!

My pleasure. The electric and water is critical. The answer to that question would put a halt on any further discussion...........no electric, no water, no jobs that typically cost too much to bring here anyway.

There is the possibility that Berea could focus on businesses that use minimal electricity and water.

Such as some tech jobs. The top jobs in the next 10 years will be crypto and AI related along with programming and metrix analytics.
