Great article, Whitney. Curious if they ever explored a road to exit 77? Wouldn’t that have been cheaper and more appealing to local residents?

Funny you should bring that up. It's more of the reporting to come, but in fact, the state plans to create a new exit between 77 and 83.

Why not proceed with that and leave this man alone?

This is a great article. This is a tragedy for Scott and his family. Many of us local residents stand behind the Gabbard’s fight for justice. There are so many road projects in Madison county as of today, we must all stand behind Scott and his family, who knows my farm or your farm could be next. The polical integrity of Madison County and the state of Ky is at swamp level at best. We must elect better officials and stand behind our great citizens.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I will be able to report later this week on the procedure that ended up with a road being proposed through the Gabbards' family farm. It is not a process that revolves around local elected officials, which could be bad or good, depending upon how you look at it. More tk on Friday.

I could not agree more with what you said about electing better officials. There are quite a few who need to go in my opinion. We must constantly remind people as it comes closer to election time as well as the fact you may need to split your ticket to get better people elected.
