The Berea Makerspace was the local venue last Thursday evening for a national robotics challenge featuring a local robotics club’s can-crushing robot (see video above, courtesy of Jess Estridge).
The event was sponsored by Novelis, an aluminum rolling and recycling company based in Atlanta, and the Colorado-based Ball Corporation.
Rat Fight as the club is named, is made up of local high schoolers mentored in robotics by Berea College students.
Rat Fight utilizes the Makerspace to build its robots, according to Jess Estridge, who co-founded the Makerspace. The next open house for anyone interested in learning more about the kinds of tools, machines, and classes available to the public will be Thursday, March 20.
