Fish fry, farmers market, and a board game tourney
April showers (more like deluges) didn't stop the fun this weekend!

It’s Lenten season, and that means Fish Fry Fridays at St. Clare’s Catholic Church.


Down the road and around the corner from the Friday night fish fry was a board game tournament called Lion in Winter. Why this name? No one knows, not even the founder, Derek Glenn — “Maybe because I like that film with Katherine Hepburn…?” — but it attracts folks from all corners of the country, and some places in between.
In it’s 12th year, board gamers from New Jersey, Florida, Washington State, California, and several other locales in between, made their way to Howard and Shirley Carlberg’s place on North Broadway for a full weekend of strategy-only board games, most of which are European in origin, Glenn told The Edge.

The Berea Farmers Market opened its outdoor season and welcomed some new vendors.
